The Quantum Terminal

The Driver

To transform Sydney into Australia’s very own Silicon Valley, the New South Wales (NSW) Government sought a partner who could bring their Tech Central precinct vision to life. CIVIS emerged as the ideal choice, entrusted with the task of designing, building, and operating a sprawling 3,300 sqms of white-labelled flexible workspaces spread across 3 floors at the Grand Central Terminal Station.

The Solution

  • The CIVIS Team worked with the NSW Government to create the brand name “The Quantum Terminal” (TQT), to help represent a space and community that support the tech and quantum computing ecosystem in Sydney.

  • As a heritage asset, the CIVIS and JLL PDS team thoughtfully designed and operated the space, ensuring compliance with heritage guidelines.

  • TQT offered flexible private offices, meeting spaces, and open-plan desks, alongside a dedicated 900 sqm floor that serves as a versatile event space. This dynamic area can be booked for private events or utilised as collaborative space for TQT and other neighbouring tech communities.

The flex space successfully operated from 2021 to the end of 2024 serving a unique community of members during this time.
